MATCH REPORT: St Martins 3-2 Rhostyllen FC

St Martins had their second pre season test at The Venue as they hosted Rhostyllen FC; a good test which ended in a 3-2 victory for the saints.

The first half ended goalless although the saints did look positive as they were effective in the final third finding decent intricate passes but struggling to finish. The team was also very organised from top to bottom and finished the half strong. The second half had more action as Rhostyllen grew into the game more and began testing the saints more than they did in the first half, they had a few decent chances from set pieces but couldn’t convert any, the saints capitalised on this as within twenty minutes from second half kick off the saints managed to bag themselves two goals through Dave Easthope and Brendon Price. The opposition then almost instantly tied things up as it only took them five minute to tie make things even as they grabbed two goals. Then with only ten minutes left we grabbed an we grabbed an odd third goal as the opposition defender attempted to pass back to keeper, keeper misjudged it, it bounced off the post and it was tucked away by our forward to give St Martins the lead and finish the game.
